MELINDA COLLINS
I started at WSPY in 1989 and am the public service director and an on-air talent. I’m married to Rick, and we have two girls, Samantha and Marjorie Grace. Some of my favorite hobbies are: Photography, walking, cooking, painting, making jewelry, and basically anything crafty! I also love to read. My favorite song is Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett and my favorite color is purple. My favorite vacation–before kids–would be a trip my husband and I took to Washington D.C.. We took only a carry on bag on the plane and walked all over D.C. it was a lot of fun. Favorite vacation since having kids would be the time we went to Pennsylvania and saw the Liberty Bell and toured Gettysburg. We love visiting the historic sites of our great country.
Some wonderful times in my life: Marrying my husband. Having our daughter Samantha, and adopting our youngest daughter, Marjorie Grace, from China. We truly have been blessed!
Surprising fun fact: I have donated, to date, 50 inches of hair to Locks Of Love. An organization that makes wigs for children with cancer.
Surprising fun fact 2: I enjoy entering items in the Sandwich Fair in baking, photography, and collections.
